CGL #211
The CGL workshops built seven standard gauge railcars for the system. These railcars have only one driving cab. Number 211 most often ran on the Marquion-Cambrai line.
Others railcars like this one have run on the Boisleux-Marquion, Achiet-Bapaume-Marcoing and Vélu-St-Quentin lines.
The model is built in styrene. The body angles are made with curved styrene.
The chassis is made by Jean Molinaro with two brass strips, and it’s motorized by a RG7. |

Billard A75D #21
In 1956, the CGL bought this railcar from the Pont de la Deule - Pont à Marcq line following its closure. It had the advantage of having two driving positions thereby avoiding the need to turn it at each end of the line. Taking the number 21, it theoretically ran on the Marquion - Cambrai section but in reality is used on any part of the system. It has an 80 hp Panhard motor.
The model was built from styrene by my friend Gilles Gayral (please see his models on the report page). This railcar has left its original home on the Corrèze system to run in the Pas-de-Calais. At this time, it is not operational: the body is not yet equipped with a chassis or motor. Certain details need to be modified – the fitting of the doors and lights, and the application of a red and cream livery like that of the 211 model.
To be continued. |
